Dr. Jing Zhang received her Ph.D. degree in Immunology from Chinese Academy of Sciences. She joined Dr. Wang’s lab in 2024. Her research interests include Protein engineering, VHH discovery and therapeutic development in neurodegenerative and inflammatory diseases.

Jiansheng Su, M.D.
Dr. Su obtained his Master’s degree in Anesthesiology from Fujian Medical University. He is currently an Attending Anesthesiologist at Fujian Medical University Union Hospital. His research focuses on perioperative anesthesiology and the molecular mechanisms of neuroinflammation and postoperative complications.

Rhea is a fourth-year undergraduate student at the University of Virginia. She joined Dr. Wang’s lab in 2024 and is focusing on a project related to RGC neurodegeneration in optic neuropathies. On Grounds, she is an active member of Class Council where she plans events for the greater University community.

Sophia is a third-year Cognitive Science student at the University of Virginia with a focus in Data Analytics. Her passion for ophthalmology drives her contributions to the lab’s study of optic neuropathies and vision-related diseases. Beyond her academic pursuits, Sophia is deeply committed to child welfare, serving her community as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children in foster care.

Alice is a first-year undergraduate studying Biology on the pre-med track at the University of Virginia. She is particularly interested in congenital diseases and and is participating in research on the immunological aspects of human eye diseases. . In her free time, she enjoys drawing and swimming.
